NYC Teen Author Festival & Charlottesville
Okay! I finally have my schedule for the NYC Teen Author Festival. I'm really delighted to be a part of it, because last year I just ogled the participants and wished I could be there as a reader. Now I get to be there in a slightly more professional capacity (I say "slightly more" because there is no word that describes me less than "professional" in any situation). Anyway, here's when I'll be there:

Friday, March 19th, from 2:10-3:00, I will be on a panel "Using Genre To Tell the True Story of Adolescence" (I believe this means, why unicorns have better coming of age stories) with Judy Blundell, Sarah Beth Durst, Lauren McLaughlin, Diana Peterfreund, Sara Shepard, and Robin Wasserman.

And then on Sunday, March 21st, from 2-:245 I will be signing at Books of Wonder along with a helluva lot of other authors including Libba Bray and Judy Blundell. There will be even more authors coming in after that, for a total of something insane like 70 authors. So if you're in NYC and want to get an almost obscene number of signatures, this is the place to be. All the details are at the link above.

And then, a week before (I know I'm doing this out of order) on the 13th, I'll be at the Charlottesville, Virginia, Barnes & Noble from 1-3 p.m. Just signing and doing my thing.

For UK'ers, it's looking very much like I will be there in the UK in October of this year. And I will be touring for Linger at the end of July, and rumor has it the West Coast will be getting some loving. I will post other appearances as I get 'em and I'm updating my website appearances page too.

Is it March yet? I'll be at the signing. And I'll be going to the Sourcebooks launch party. That sounds like fun!
I'm so excited :D

I'd love to be there but I guess I'd have to wish I can be in London in October. A bit nearer home for me. Because you aren't coming to Spain, are you? (If you say yes my kid is going to be on the line for a week before you get here and I won't forbid her to do so).
Maggie Stiefvaterm_stiefvater on February 27th, 2010 09:41 pm (UTC)
No Spanish trip planned . . . . yet. >:D

What a pitty!
Guess I'll have to plan a trip to London then! :) (As I love London that's no real pain ;)).

I might actually be able to get to Charlottesville :) Is that on the 13th?
Maggie Stiefvaterm_stiefvater on February 27th, 2010 09:40 pm (UTC)
Oh, THANK YOU! I didn't put the date. It is the 13th!
lanna_lovelylanna_lovely on February 27th, 2010 09:43 pm (UTC)
If you come to the UK, will that include Scotland? Awesome authors rarely come to the UK and when they do, their tours are usually down in England. =[

Oooh. This was fun times last year (well, I only got to go to the mega-signing, alas, but the events all seemed pretty fascinating), I might have to go again this one.

Hi Maggie, is your Cville signing the same weekend as the Festival of the Book? Never mind, previous weekend. Darn, so close, maybe next time.

Last time I nearly got stranded because of Evil Weather. I was Scarred for Life.

I am so green right now! Is there anyway to get a transcript to that panel discussion? For my scary Senior Seminar paper in which I'm trying to convince a bunch of classic loving college professors that YA is not a waste of time and is important so they should not sneer down their noses at it. The short version of the title is A Defense of Young Adult Lit. And it sounds like your discussions would be a great source for me to use in my paper. Do you think there is a way? I mean, I would go, but I have finals, and oh yeah, I'm a broke college student living in MO. Do you realize how few authors there are in the heartland? Kind of sad really.
Maggie Stiefvaterm_stiefvater on April 24th, 2010 02:19 am (UTC)
Boo! Maybe me and the other Merry Sisters will do a roundtable on it. That's probably too late for you, isn't it!

I'm going to read UK as 'London'. As that is usually the case. : ) If someone ever visits near Manchester or Liverpool I will probably faint. Though it takes very little to get an over dramatic response from me, i'll admit. Hehe. I just did another happy dance, and squeal when I caught my name on the ARC winners list again. *shakes head* Sometimes I even judge myself. Then I realise, that i'd rather be me than one of the "Sane Ones" *shudders* Normal people really frighten me.

Maggie Stiefvaterm_stiefvater on March 15th, 2010 02:12 am (UTC)
I was in Manchester when I went last year! I will lobby for it again.
Karlie Jai: Belle Engrossed In Bookgreenfaeriedust on March 15th, 2010 02:48 am (UTC)
*incoherent joy* Oh, please do so! That would be wonderful. I'm very disappointed I missed you last year, but i'll keep my fingers crossed for the future.

I'd definitely be at the Charlottesville one, but that's about a 4-5 hour drive.
Stupid PLANS.
