Maggie Does Bagpipes

And proof of my bagpipingness. I have to twiddle with them more and geek out on the reed a bit more to get it the way I like it. And it's been seven years since I've picked a set of pipes up (how time flies when you're writing werewolf novels). But . . . Maggie piping, nonetheless. More impressive videos to come later.

I only learned to play the chanter, and I wished I had progressed up to the bagpipes.

I was one of the very few female bagpipers in Virginia when I was in college. I don't think it's changed too much.

I'm pretty sre that your talent is limitless. I'm surprised you ever find time to sleep, with everything that you can do. You seem something of a whirlwind with your updates. : )

This just made me want to go back to Scotland again, or to watch Braveheart. Hehe. It's amazing how Bagpipes on a soundtrack can make a scene so much more emotional. : )

Sooooooooooooooooooooo awesome. I dated a guy who played pipes once. He'd play in the walk-in closet with the door closed as to not deafen me. I didn't care. :)

Very impressive! I always figured this instrument has to be one of the hardest to figure out to play. It puts me in mind of Hamish Macbeth and anything to do with Robert Carlyle has to be good. :0)

Bagpipes terrify me... I pretty much fail at being Scottish, they literally make me want to cry or hide or something (one time when I was shopping with my mum, there was a band of people playing bagpipes like, right outside the shop, it was so awful - I hastily ran off to hide in the frozen food aisles away from them). =P

Ha! Once upon a time, I had hundreds of tunes in my brain (though my low point was when I played some tunes from Woodstock at a wedding, I think I have too much dignity for that now).
