In Which Maggie Gives America's Youth A Piece Of Her Mind
A reader recently asked me what she should do in college if she wanted to be a writer. This is what I have to say about it.

Awesome advice! (As are your sunglasses. :P) I tried majoring in something in college that I really just didn't care for, and it ended up being very unhealthy for me mentally. Majoring in something that you love is always the best way to go, regardless of what it is!

Agreed
I'm an aspiring writer reaching the end of my high school career, and I recently had all these wonderful ideas you offered come to me in an epiphany when I decided I could be a writer and a medical assistant at the same time. Before now I was concerned about getting a degree that would best improve my writing, when I should have been worrying about what it is that I am doing and enjoying doing that I can use to improve my writing. Very well put, Maggie.

P.S. Nice house. And your camaro's purr is delicious. :)

One bad thing about college is that the lessons are not presented as cool as this.

And to Carrie, James Herriot wouldn't have had much to write about if he hadn't become a vet. He learned to write by reading Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and then scribbled out his adventures while watching sports on TV in the evenings. :-)

I live in New Zealand and my road is a goat track, someone is always driving my my side of the road. Also mountain bikers who drive 3 abreast can die in a fire.

All I could think about during this video was the fact that your house has (or likely, more accurately, needs) two garages. That means you have ALL the vehicles, I assume. :)

I've learned a lot with writing through reading over the years. While I do wish I'd been a tad bit smarter about college, I enjoy the fact that I did do something I felt passionate about, received my degree, and find that it does influence my writing.

There are several things I think one can take from this, for me, multi-tasking is something that'll carry you a long way and a good skill to have.

BTW, I'm no police, nor do I pretend to be... But this was definitely DD (distracted driving)

So as a fan :D might I suggest safer examples of multi-tasking like bouncing on your exercise ball while mixing a batch of the giant chocolate chip cookie dough and giving sage writer advice ^_^

I would bet that a lot of people would be aghast over this advice and the way in which you gave it. And these are both reasons you're the coolest.

Regarding your racing...I see Pikes Peak in your future and a car chase in a future book. The sounds of your Camaro is sweet.
