Lament Launch Parties!  
it is now officially so close to my book launch that it's time to talk about the launches themselves.

That's right, plural. For the discerning future-fan (I coined that egotistical phrase all by myself), we offer two choices: the physical launch, for the Virginia-inclined, and the online launch, for the proximity-challenged.

Here are the details:

PHYSICAL LAUNCH PARTY

Where: Creatures N'Crooks Bookstore, Richmond, VA
When: Friday, October 3rd, 7:00 p.m.
Why You Should Venture into Supah-Cool Carytown for the event:
1) Me. I'll be there, dressed as . . . me.
2) I'll be signing books.
3) I'll be giving away fun prizes.
4) I'll be bringing my harp Rory and a fiddle, with a fiddler attached to it.
5) We will be three doors away from a French pastry shop.

VIRTUAL LAUNCH CHAT PARTY

Where: Enchanting Reviews Chat Room
When: Wednesday, October 1st, 8:00 p.m. EST
Why You Should Venture into Virtual World for the event:
1) Me. I'll be there using chat language.
2) If you come and chat and can tell me what song is mentioned on page 27 of Lament (you'll have to preorder a copy before the event), I'll enter you in a drawing for free prizes.
3) I will send out signed, personalized bookplates to all chat participants who want to affix them lovingly in the copies of their books.
4) I'll be talking about Lament, book biz, and writing! And other random things!

So, um, please come? I don't want to be all lonely or nuthin' . . . .

Sounds great! I've got Lament on my amazon.com wishlist so depending on how money is, I'll hopefully have it by Oct. 1. And even if I don't, talking about writing is always fun. :-)

I'm gonna post my entry soon! I was hoping to get the video of him reading loaded to youtube first... Boo.

I'll wait a little longer though. JUUUUSTTT a little. Maybe 15 minutes and then I'll put it up, with or without the vid.

Two things:

Amazon has betrayed me. I got sent an email yesterday telling me not to expect Lament until November the 1st.
'November?' quoth she, her eyes blazing in fury. 'By my trooth, I think not.'* And, with that, she cancelled the order.
Only, I can't make flux work for me. Does it only ship to people far across the pond? Will I be forced to learn patience? Because we all know that will only end in protest songs...

To tell you the truth, I don't know if Flux does ship internationally or not! I'm actually guessing not. Just logically, I think they'd probably make most of their overseas sales through a distributor for that country.

Did you order through Amazon uk or Amazon us?

I ordered through Amazon US. Amazon UK didn't have it at all, and forwarded me to the US page. So then I went into Blackwells this morning, and they said it would take 6 weeks for them to get it for me. Apparently my best chance is to emigrate convince someone to buy it for me & post it over, then paypal them. So I'm about to start calling in favours. Because patience is not my strong suit...

OOO, just saw this. I'm so glad that The Story Siren mentioned your post about receiving your Lament copies because then I found out about your physical signing!! Richmond is only like an hour and a half away or so from where I am (Lynchburg), so I'll try my best to make it!!

Let's hope I remember it... I just added you as an LJ friend, so as long as you post about it a couple days beforehand, I'll remember, lol.
