My Friday fiction is up at Merry Sisters of Fate (
merry_fates).. I wrote this one while riding back from Pittsburgh with my husband and pukey toddlers (can you believe that spell-checker thinks "pukey" isn't a word? It should've seen my kids) on Sunday. It was one of those stories where I had to listen to a song on a closed loop all during the writing of it. In this case Coldplay's "Viva la Vida," which happened to come on my Sirius radio and seemed very appropriate.
MY LOVE SLAVE: Please can we listen to something else now.
ME (starting it again): Not yet.
MY LOVE SLAVE: It's been five times now and I know all the words. Now?
ME: Nearly done . . . this one might be short enough that I don't need an LJ cut!!
MY LOVE SLAVE: Woot. Next song, please?
ME: A HA! My plan is complete. Wow. I hope this doesn't suck.
MY LOVE SLAVE: Too late. I'm listening to "Icky Thump" on continuous loop for the next four hours and see how you like it.
Anyway, I hope you like it, because my husband's not going to let me listen to that song for years now.
